CMSC is excited to announce a SUMMER Trip opportunity for all our Snowsports friends!
DATES: June 22 to Jul 8, 2026.
Cleveland Metro Ski Council is partnering with Ohio Valley Ski Council, to bring you a Fabulous TWO week small ship adventure to discover the Hidden Gems of the Dalmatian Coast (Adriatic Sea). The sixteen day trip includes exploration into Croatia (Zadar, Zagreb, Plitvice Lakes, Split, Dubrovnik), Montenegro (Kotor), Albania (Saranda, Butrint), and Greece (Corfu, Delphi, Athens and passage through the Corinth Canal), with an optional half-day visit to Croatia. OAT: Overseas Adventure Travel, the tour operator, also offers an optional multi-day tour before the main trip, and one after.
If this trip fits into your schedule and budget, we strongly recommend it. We took a very similar trip this past summer with OAT, and can’t rave enough about it. Its higher cost stems from the 12 days on a small ship (max 50 guests) with ample size rooms, sumptuous food, and very attentive and fun staff/crew. For the daily tours, we will have our own tour group with 25 or less people. OAT employs very knowledgeable and personable local tour guides who really bring history alive while also sharing insights about each country, their local residents, culture and struggles.
This trip is a moderately rated for physical activities with a minimum of 3 miles of walking a day, including some days with a vertical component (stairs). From my last trip I can say that it is easy to clock closer to 6 miles as you wander on your own during free time. And the ship carries e-bikes for passengers to use in port.
We hope this trip will lead to future joint trips with Ohio Valley, which has been offering summer trips like this for a while. We are hoping to fill the small ship between the two ski councils.
Signing up and costs:
There is open registration now through the end of January. Any rooms not filled by then will be opened to the public. Registration requires an initial $750 deposit per person. And if you are able to pay in full 15 months in advance, there is a 10% discount. There is also a sliding scale of discount amounts as the trip gets closer (outlined in the flyer). Check out the flyer for what is included (most meals, 23 guided tours, gratuities for local guise and motor coach drivers plus more!)
NOTE: There are only a handful of rooms in Class B, C, and D and only 2 Single supplement rooms. So if you are interested in one of those, you need to book sooner rather than later. Contact me about single supplement first.
Instructions to sign up, are in the attached flyer. Be sure to provide the CODE in the flyer, to register for OUR GROUP.
NOTE: these prices are PER PERSON and LAND-ONLY, and you can book your own air OR OAT will book for you.

Cabins A/B:
Cabins C/D:
Airfare: OAT, the tour operator, can book airfare for you, OR you can book your own (for people who have frequent flier miles to use, or are very familiar with booking their own flights). OAT is currently quoting airfare from Cleveland at $1,940. Per person. NOTE: if you are able to pay in full 15 months in advance, you would also receive 10% off this airfare. Contact me for more insight.
Single Supplement: If this is something you would be interested in OR if you are single signing up by yourself, please contact me for further information. As with any trip, singles are encouraged to find a roommate on their own prior to signing up, but it is not a requirement.
Trip insurance: OAT does offer trip insurance for $949. And although both OAT and I STRONGLY advise trip or travel insurance, I also STRONGLY suggest you look into other insurance companies such as TravelGuard ( I have used this for years) and Allianz (I have heard very good things about this provider), as well as familiarize yourself with the difference between trip insurance and travel insurance. Contact me if you want a good description of Travel Insurance vs Trip Insurance.
Cancellation Policy: PLEASE read the OAT cancellation policy prior to signing up. The policy appears to be very generous, but please keep in mind that the reimbursement can (and I assume, likely will) be made as a credit toward another trip, rather than a cash reimbursement). Another reason to be sure to buy insurance to cover medical reasons etc.
Lastly, there will be a Zoom informational meeting on Monday, Dec 2 at 7:00PM to answer questions, share information, etc about this trip. If you like to attend, please let me know so I can send you a link. In fact, contact me with any question you may have. Email is probably the best.
