Crooked River Adventures will transport us to the entry point at Russell/Eldon Park.If you go south straight down the river back to the Iron Horse it’s only about three miles. If you want a longer trip you have a number of options. Instead of heading south at Russell/Eldon Park you can paddle north, visit the beaver dam and then head south. This adds a few miles to the trip.
Or if you want, you can cross the beaver dam and go up to Sperry Pond, which is very close to the headwaters of the Cuyahoga. That’ll add a few more miles. Don’t want to say “hi” to the beavers, another longer trip is to just keep paddling beyond the Iron Horse and Rte. 422 and continue heading south, turn around and then head back. Just like our bike trips you can make your trip as long as you want. This will be a great time to relax in a pristine natural part of the river and hang out with friends. If we’re lucky we’ll see some bald eagles.
