What we are going to see: We will see a lot of Sharon
Conglomerate and some very nice spring wildflowers. Hopefully,
we will also see some sun and some early season pollinators.
We will also be seeing—and stepping in—mud, so you may
want to bring an extra pair of shoes and socks.
What we are going to do: We will be viewing wildflowers at
two different locations in the park. First, we will walk the river
bottoms by our meeting location. Then we will drive to the
Worden’s Ledges area. Worden’s Ledges is a fantastic place, so
bring a camera. Afterwards, we can head to the Montrose area
for food and drink.
Additional Information Hinckley Reservation is part of the Cleveland Metroparks system, so there is a
very nice restroom there. We will be there at 12:30 for a picnic. This is a rain or shine event. Wildflowers
like a little rain, so bring an umbrella just in case.
Directions: From Akron/Canton take I-77 North to SR18. Take SR18 west towards Medina. At MedinaLine Road, turn right. Go north on Medina-Line Road to Remsen Road. Turn left onto Remsen Road. Follow
Remsen Road to State Road. Turn right onto State Road. Go north on State Road to West Road. Turn left
onto West Road. West Road is a park road; there will be a Cleveland Metroparks sign at this intersection.
Follow the park signs to the Boat House. Drive past the Boat House. At the end of the drive, there is a
playground/picnic area. We will meet there.
